SHERBURN — Sherburn American Legion and Legion Auxiliary sadly announced this week that because of the COVID-19 virus they will not hold a Memorial Day program this year.
The Avenue of Flags committee also announced it will not hold the dedication of new flags to be flown at the park.
Hopefully by next Memorial Day, the program and dedication of new flags will once again take place at our city park.
The May and June Relay for Life meetings are cancelled due to COVID-19 and American Cancer Society guidelines.

Because of the COVID-19 virus, the CREST organization is only providing transportation services for medically necessary doctor and medical appointments.
They have set up a telephone assurance calling project. This project has volunteers calling senior citizens a couple times per week to check in with them and see how things are going. It is their way to help keep seniors connected during this stay-at-home time.
If you would like more information on volunteering for CREST or finding out more about this organization, please call the CREST office at (507) 235-3833.
Because of concerns with COVID-19, the Martin County Relay for Life event scheduled for June 27 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont has been cancelled. A new event to honor cancer survivors and lost loved ones hopefully can be held at a later date.
